The First North Pennine Wool Trail


The first North Pennine Wool Trail will take place on Saturday 13th August 2011.

Explore the North Pennines as a pioneer on the first North Pennines Wool Trail.

The trail will include Eden Gotlands in Cumbria, Highside Farm in Teesdale and Slack House Farm in Weardale.


11am – 3pm  'Sheep to yarn' to include various sheep breeds, spinning, 
weaving and sales of yarns and products
Highside Farm, Bowbank, Middleton-in-Teesdale DL12 0NT

11am – 4pm 'Fleece with Altitude' to include various sheep breeds, feltmaking,
natural dyeing (with Ruth Hicken, Textiles Through Time), peg loom weaving, wools and fleeces for sale
Slack House Farm, Ireshopeburn, Weardale DL13 1HL

1pm – 6pm  'Sheep to seat' – see the carding machine at work, meet the 
flock, spinning, felt cushion making.
